ABRSL POINTS SYSTEM 

   

Play-Off rankings will be determined by a weighted point system.  Each team in the 10u, 12u and 14/16u division that has played in a minimum of ten (10) regular season games will qualify for the play-offs.  It should be noted that the minimum games number will be adjusted accordingly if there have been an exuberant amount of canceled games due to weather.  If two teams compile the same number of points at the end of the year, their bracket positioning will be determined by the following criteria (in this order) head-to-head results, win record and total runs allowed for the season.  The winner and runner up teams from each bracket are awarded trophies.

 

Points will be awarded in the following manner:    

Win = 4 Points

Loss = 1 Point

Tie = 2 Points

Forfeits "Winning" team (non-forfeiting team) is awarded 3 points. The forfeiting team will lose 1 point from their total points regardless of when the forfeit was issued (either before or during a game).   

             

Applying forfeit points (for or against). Each teams total points will be manually adjusted at the end of-the-year to reflect any forfeits either for or against.  At this time, 2 points will be deducted from a teams total points for every forfeit game charged to them.  1 point will be deducted from a teams total points at the end of the season for every game a team forfeited against them. This is due to the limitations in the software that automatically updates the scoring.  Only wins, losses and ties can be entered. The difference between a win (which is how a forfeit will be automatically scored as) and a "forfeit win" is 1 point (4 versus 3).  The difference between a loss and a forfeit loss is 2 points (1 versus -1). 

 

It should therefore be noted that the point totals as they appear in the Standings section of this site are unofficial until the forfeit points (if applicable) are added and or subtracted at the end of the season.    

  

Did Not Play - 1 Point will be deducted for each game that was not played.
